Training

This page only covers disability equality training. I can tailor the training to specific requirements.

What is disability equality training

You can never fully understand what it’s like to be someone else. That includes knowing what life is like for a specific disabled person. The aim of this training is to give a better appreciation of the issues that disabled people face. It will help you understand ways you can reduce these barriers.

The training highlights the types of issues faced, the myths surrounding disability, models of disability, language and the laws. This training is based around the social model of disability.

The core parts of the training are:

  • Social model of disability
  • Myths and assumptions
  • Language and communication
  • Problem solving

As always my key messages are to think, learn and communicate.

Experience

Disability experience
